Museum & Gift Shop Hours

Trailside Museum and the Souvenir & Rock Shop are open:

Trailside Museum of Natural History is a seasonal facility. The museum is closed to the public November 1-March 30. 

Museum Admission

Admission plus valid Nebraska State Park Entry Permit required to visit Trailside Museum. 

Admission is free every day with Museum membership!

Group Visits

Large groups are welcome to visit Trailside Museum. While advance notice of a group visit is appreciated, it is not required. 

Service Animals

Trailside Museum welcomes service animals in the museum. Service animals must be clearly identifiable as such. Pets, emotional support animals, therapy or comfort animals, and service dogs in training are not considered service animals and are not permitted within the museum.

Planning your visit

Trailside Museum is located inside the historic Fort Robinson State Park. The park and museum are just three miles west of Crawford, Nebraska and located just off of Highway 20. The location is approximately 2 hours north of Interstate 80. 

 

 

Visitor Parking

A limited number of museum designated parking spots are available on the north side of Trailside Museum. Additional parking is available in a Nebraska Game & Parks managed parking lot to the west of Trailside Museum (state park permit must be displayed to park). 

State Park Permit

Trailside Museum is located inside Fort Robinson State Park. A state park permit is required from Nebraska Game & Parks to enter the park and visit our museum. Permits may be acquired in advance online.

Accessibility

The main floor of Trailside Museum where museum exhibits are located wheelchair accessible. However, the Souvenir & Rock shop located on the lower level is not wheelchair accessible.
